Knots of Memory in Music and Documentaries (음악과 다큐멘터리에서의 기억의 매듭들)

이 강연은 사물놀이 전공자인 고려인 블라디미르 한 감독이 전하는 ‘고국, 음악, 기억’에 관한 서사입니다. 우리는 사물놀이 악기 중 ‘징’을 고려인의 정체성을 대변하는 핵심 매개체로 선정했습니다. 가장 깊고 긴 여운의 소리를 지닌 징은 강제 이주 후에도 수십 년간 한국 문화를 이어온 고려인들의 삶과 닮아 있기 때문입니다. 화면 중앙을 가득 채운 징과 사물놀이 의복(민복, 더거리, 삼색띠)은 견고하게 자리잡은 고려인들의 문화적 자부심을 상징하며, 징의 형상 위로 교차하는 의복 요소들은 흩어진 기억들을 하나의 응축된 에너지로 묶어내는 시각적 정점 역할을 수행합니다.
This lecture presents a narrative of “homeland, music, and memory” by director Vladimir Han, a Koryo-saram artist trained in samulnori. The design centers on the jing, whose deep, resonant sound symbolizes the enduring cultural identity of Koryo-saram communities who have sustained Korean traditions despite decades of displacement.
The jing filling the center of the frame, together with elements of samulnori attire—minbok, deogeori, and the tricolor sash—represents their firmly rooted cultural pride, while the intersecting costume elements visually condense dispersed memories into a single, concentrated form.
